The Association constitutes herself in 1998 with local character once the Town Council of Lena was circumscribed for the purpose of promoting the tourism at the zone and improving the capacitation and performance of the businessmen of the sector.

At a later time in 1999 and as a consequence of the interest generated at the zone, he requests to new associates for businessmen's part of another Town Councils the Association's opening, changing the space of locale hence to regional, although centering the space of performance to the Town Councils that today know themselves like Montaña Central to have some economic common interests, and being a part of a Merger for the tourist and economic dinamization.

Starting from the year 2000 the Association initiates of a more professional form her activities, placing his headquarters in Mieres and incorporating companies of Mieres's, Lena's, Morcín's, Riosa's, Ribera's above and Aller's Town Councils dedicated principally to Alojamiento, Restauración, Servicios Turísticos and Turismo Activo.

During the past 3 years he has accomplished following activities:

• I Jornadas Turísticas Montaña Central organized in Lena.

• Promotional working days at Mieres's fair year 2003.

• Diverse publicity and promotional proceedings.

• Conocimiento's journey of the Mountain Central with Turismo's technicians of Princedom of Asturias.

• Participation in the Merging for the Development of the Central Mountain.
